Trying to plan a party for a few months out and wasn't sure how early to actually lock in bounce house rentals , so wanted to see what other people's experience has been with timing.
From what I've found, popular units and peak weekends tend to book up fastest, especially spring and summer when birthday parties, school events, and festivals are all competing for the same inventory. A lot of providers recommend booking at least a couple weeks out at minimum, but if you've got your heart set on a specific themed unit, especially a licensed character combo, waiting until the last minute seems to mean settling for whatever's left rather than what you actually wanted.
Last-minute bookings do seem possible in a pinch though, some providers will work with short notice if something opens up, so it's not necessarily a dealbreaker if plans come together quickly. That said, relying on that seems riskier during busier seasons versus a random weekday in the off-season when availability's less of an issue.
Deposits are the other thing worth sorting out early. Most places seem to require a deposit to actually hold your reservation rather than just a verbal booking, so if you're planning around a specific date, it's worth locking that in with payment rather than assuming a call or email alone secures it. Anyone booked last-minute and gotten lucky, or learned the hard way that their first-choice unit was already gone?
