How much amount to pre-pay to the photographer?

Even the vendors we are booking are asking for some amount as booking amount for assurity and I think its okay only to do so!

See, it depends upon vendor to vendor. If you wish to give less amount then you can negotiate with him once. I remember one of my friend giving 1/4th pre amount to his vendor. You can do the same!
