Name change: yay or nay

Who is planning on changing their last name post-wedding? I haven’t decided as of now but I feel that I am leaning towards keeping my last name. I come from an academic profession and all my professional accomplishments are using my current name. Besides, I also feel that it's an antiquated thumb rule, one that I don’t mind breaking away from and in the manner of speaking, somewhat sexist! But, at the same time I am a little apprehensive thinking that it might end up hurting my fiance’s feelings. What was everyone else's experiences with name changing?
