Is it okay to wear normal tee & shorts on haldi?

I’m thinking of wearing normal clothes on my haldi ceremony and not planning to invest in a separate outfit. The colour of the haldi will stain the outfit and I will not be able to wear it again. Are you guys planning the same or have you guys purchased a separate outfit?
